THE ROLE
Take the steering wheel of a highly coveted senior leadership position as part of our busy Energy Networks Team. Based in our Perth office, as the Operations Manager, you will report to the Delivery Support Manager responsible for the leadership, growth, and operational oversight of Utility Asset Management (UAM) WA Network Services distribution contracts.
Your expertise in business development will be valuable. You will collaborate with existing and new clients to help grow the business in Western Australia. This role will evaluate operational solutions included in bids to ensure their feasibility for delivery.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
* Effective people leadership involves managing talent, allocating resources, promoting inclusion, and ensuring employee retention.
* Oversee and execute P&L, delivery, business development, growth, zero harm, cost management, margin improvement, bid management, and estimating.
* Contract mobilisation (inbound and outbound), variations, and retention/growth of customer portfolios. Develop strategies for current and future contracts.
* Effective management of internal and external relationships, fostered by a culture promoting value-added partnerships.
* Ensure operations comply with The Downer Standard, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
ABOUT YOU
* A tertiary qualification in business, finance, commerce, or a related field.
* Demonstrated success in managing the operational delivery of large, complex service contracts that involve multiple service offerings and a combination of self-performed work and subcontractor partnerships.
* Proven experience in a P&L role that is both extensive and complex, with responsibility for financial outcomes such as EBIT, safety, tenure, and rebids.
* Demonstrated success in developing existing and new clients and delivering growth plans.
