Our client is a real estate platform with expertise in investment management, development, and property management with a strong track record as an established leader in the sector. With a broad international network, the company operates across multiple European markets, focusing on value-enhancing strategies, capital recovery, and seizing attractive market opportunities in complex environments. In addition to its investment activities, the company also provides comprehensive advisory services in the field of restructuring.
To strengthen the Real Estate Private Equity team, an Investment Director (m/f/d) is now being sought. The candidate will play a key role in identifying, structuring, and executing real estate investments while also taking responsibility for leading and developing a high-performing team. This position requires strong strategic capabilities, extensive experience in transaction management, and exceptional communication skills to drive the growth and success of the real estate portfolio.
Main responsibilities:
* Identifying and acquiring real estate investment opportunities both on- and off-market while conducting comprehensive market analysis to assess high-potential sectors, emerging trends, and strategic locations aligned with the firm’s investment strategy. Representing the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance market presence and strengthen industry relationships.
* Managing the full investment lifecycle, including initial screening, detailed due diligence, financial modeling, structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution. Leading investment committee presentations by delivering in-depth analysis, well-supported recommendations, and high-quality financial models and reports for investors and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborating with legal, tax, and financial advisors to address transaction complexities, mitigate risks, and ensure full regulatory compliance. Overseeing the seamless integration of acquired assets into the asset management function to drive operational success post-acquisition and support strategic exit planning.
* Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing investment team by fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration. Providing expert guidance on deal structuring, financial analysis, and negotiation strategies while actively driving the professional growth of team members through regular coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
* Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the firm’s real estate portfolio to ensure alignment with return objectives and risk parameters. Working closely with asset management to maximize value creation and actively contributing to the ongoing refinement of the firm’s investment strategy in response to evolving market dynamics and broader corporate objectives.
What you should bring:
* A degree in finance, real estate, business administration, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
* A minimum of eight years of experience in real estate private equity, investment banking, or a comparable sector, with a strong track record in sourcing and executing investment transactions.
* Deep expertise in real estate markets, asset classes, and investment structures, combined with strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
* Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is highly advantageous.
* Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in structuring and closing complex transactions.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making processes both internally and externally.
* A strategic mindset coupled with a hands-on, execution-focused approach.
* High level of professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
* Adaptable, proactive, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Our client is willing to compensate this position with a gross annual salary starting at EUR 120.000,-. Overpayment is possible with relevant work experience or appropriate qualifications.
