We are seeking an experienced Lead Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team at our Perth head office, located on St Georges Terrace. This permanent full-time role includes occasional travel to our Cape Preston mine site.
In this role, you will support the Procurement Manager in overseeing operational procurement activities, including purchasing, sourcing materials and services, and driving continuous process improvements.
Leading a team, you will ensure the safe, cost-effective, and efficient procurement of goods and services while adhering to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and supervise the Procurement team’s daily and weekly activities.
2. Manage Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
3. Support team members through SAP MM Processes and issue resolution.
4. Source and procure materials and services to support operational and project teams.
5. Develop and maintain procurement documentation and process mapping.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain functions.
7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, and Finance teams, to optimize supply chain strategies.
8. Foster strong supplier relationships and negotiations aligned with company objectives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
1. Proven leadership experience in a procurement or purchasing function within the mining and resources sector.
2. Proficiency in SAP Materials Management (P2P processes) and Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Strong understanding of P2P processes, commercial principles, and supply chain management.
4. Knowledge of maintenance, operations, and warehouse requirements related to mining procurement.
5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills with a strong customer service focus.
6. A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in procurement practices.
7. Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.
