Master’s Thesis Title
Development and Characterization of Chemical Fluxes for Oxidation Control in Metal Melts
Job Description
We are looking for a master’s student with a background in chemistry or materials science to join a research project focused on developing chemical fluxes to control oxidation in metal melts, particularly in aluminum and titanium alloys. This thesis addresses innovative solutions to the challenge of rapid oxide formation, which has a significant impact on viscosity measurements and material properties.
Research Objectives
1. Flux Formulation: Develop and synthesize new flux compounds that effectively prevent or minimize oxide layer formation.
2. Comprehensive Chemical Analysis: Conduct detailed chemical analyses to investigate the interactions between fluxes and metal melts under high-temperature conditions.
3. Proof of Concept and Validation: Evaluate the effectiveness of the fluxes through experimental setups, including viscosity measurements, to demonstrate their practical applicability.
Qualifications
1. Ongoing master’s studies in chemistry, materials science, or a related field
2. Solid knowledge of inorganic chemistry, with experience in the synthesis and characterization of chemical compounds
3. Practical laboratory experience, particularly in high-temperature experiments
4. Ability to conduct independent research and a systematic approach to experimental work
Additional Information
We do not accept applications via personnel service providers or recruitment agencies and ask all interested parties to submit their documents directly via our career site. Applications via personnel service providers will not be processed. As a matter of principle, we also do not hire temporary workers, but build on long-term, direct employment relationships.
