About the Role
As a member of the Global MML Purchasing Organization, you will assist in the development and implementation of the LkSG (German Supply Chain Requirements) requirements, in addition to ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) requirements to all Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting suppliers. This position will work with Magna International in developing the overarching processes, systems, and governance that Suppliers will be required to meet as part of these regulations. Additionally, this role will support future government regulations or requirements that arise in the Supply Chain field, serving as an expert and liaison for the Divisions and the Global Purchasing Team. To support our Global Purchasing Team, we are searching for an ESG & LkSG Coordinator (m/w/x) to join our team as soon as possible.
Your Responsibilities
1. Act as the sustainability champion and subject matter expert (SME) for the Global Magna MML Purchasing team including being "Point of contact" for Supplier Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) Interface to Magna International (Supplier Management), our MML Global Organization, and Divisions by participating in ESG supply chain related regular meetings and coordinating Global Magna MML SMEs if required in ESG related topics.
2. Implementation of data tracking tools to support Tier N mapping and immediate identification of Supplier Risks in the event of any significant event (Force Majeure, Regulatory breach, etc.) as well as work with Global Commodity Management on the identified suppliers to develop action plans for improvements of recommended actions relevant to supplier’s operations, location, and product.
3. Continually track and update Magna MML requirements based on new ESG and Government Regulations that are being released as well as train, track, and maintain Supplier ESG portal for Magna MML to ensure compliance with all requirements.
4. Support Global Commodity Management to review Supplier dashboards and overall business reviews with performance and completion indicators and collaborate with other Magna ESG and LkSG (German Supply Chain Requirements) leads to resolve any shared problems or concerns across Magna.
5. Develop with the cross-functional team ways to embed supplier performance and progress into procurement ways of working e.g., supplier scorecard, tenders, carbon pricing, KPIs and ensure Magna’s ESG related policies, procedures, and guidelines are distributed and understood and required processes are implemented, followed, and our Group staff is properly trained and knowledgeable.
Who we are looking for
Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market. Functional experience in areas of strategic planning, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management, and supplier quality and experience with manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement. Project Management or Systems implementation experience is preferred. Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25% of the time. Excellent English skills on C1 level mandatory.
Your preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline.
- At least 2 years working with ESG programs, including familiarity with local, state, US federal, and European regulations is preferred.
- 3-5 years' progressive experience in Purchasing field, preferably in an automotive/manufacturing environment.
