The Graz Residency for International Photographers (GRIP) is intended as an opportunity for photographers to focus on their artistic work and research in the city of Graz. It would thus be highly appreciated if the selected artist would reside in the city between mid-September and mid-October 2025 and shows an interest in getting to know the city’s vibrant local art scene and in connecting with its protagonists. During the residency period, the international festival steirischer herbst will also be running in Graz and offers an opportunity to engage with its heterogeneous program.
During their stay, the selected artist will have time to work on an already ongoing project or to develop a new one and/or to conduct research. Further, the fellow is invited to use the extensive study library of Camera Austria during the institution’s opening hours.
The residency comprises a fully equipped apartment in the city center of Graz and a scholarship of €1,000.– for the period of their stay. Furthermore, travel expenses from their regular place of residency to Graz and back after the residency will be reimbursed.
The residency will conclude with a presentation on the selected artist’s work in the exhibition and library space of Camera Austria.
