The opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Facilities and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the operational performance of the College’s facilities, physical assets, and connected services. This pivotal role focuses on delivering safe, functional, and sustainable spaces for students, staff, and stakeholders while maintaining the highest standards of workplace health and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working collaboratively with the College’s Infrastructure and Maintenance teams to ensure physical infrastructure is managed and operated effectively and efficiently, to meet the needs of the College community.
* Management and oversight of building systems, including BMS, EMS and CCTV, security access controls and oversight of the Fire Panel and OWS activities.
* Leadership and management of the College’s sustainability strategy and roadmap.
* Management and oversight of all facilities based contracts, including sourcing and negotiating contracts with service providers and performing contractor site inspections.
* Management and oversight of the College’s operational partnership with YMCA.
* Management of external hire arrangements of the College’s ovals and buildings.
* Supporting event operations.
The role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrable facilities management experience, preferably within a complex, matrixed style organisation.
* Thorough understanding of building systems and regulations.
* Strong proficiency in financial management of budgets and experience reporting to senior leadership, board and committee level.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and communicate effectively across all areas and levels of a community to achieve successful outcomes.
* Collaborative and solutions-oriented approach with the ability to work through ‘road blocks’ and problem solve, implementing a best-fit solution for all stakeholders.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated capability to thrive in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
