The Impact You'll Make
As a Systems Engineer at Lam, you'll design complex frameworks, systems, or products for our wafer fabrication equipment. You will define system specifications, requirements, parameters, and compatibility to integrate hardware, software, and firmware into a cohesive system. Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses combined with your multi-layered technical expertise you help shape the next generation of Lam initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead engineer of a development program (product), ensuring mechanical and electrical hardware and tool software work together to meet system specifications.
2. Develop system specifications based on product specifications and configuration options.
3. Resolve design tradeoffs/conflicts to ensure design integration for optimal product performance.
4. Ensure the system meets engineering and compliance standards, especially in design phases.
5. Manage BOM (bill of material) setup and documentation release plan execution.
6. Prepare required program/product related Engineering deliverables (e.g. FMEA, technical specifications, risk analyses).
7. Ensure all interfaces for the product are well defined and functioning.
8. Participate in cost allocation model and ensure designs meet cost targets.
9. Develop reliability allocation model, reliability design approach, and test plans.
What We're Looking For
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following areas:
* System Engineering
* Electrical Engineering
* Mechanical Engineering
* Mechatronic / Automation Engineering
1. At least 5 years of experience in Engineering.
2. Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
3. Professional presentation skills.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
5. Demonstrates flexibility, technical independence, structured working style, and high accuracy in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
6. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and react to shifting priorities.
7. Excellent social skills with ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
8. Strong analytical skills and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
What We're Offering
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise, and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
