Company Description
As an FPGA Engineer (f/m/x), you will play a key role in shaping the development of our high-precision measuring instruments. Operating at the intersection of hardware and software, you will contribute significantly to enhancing the performance and accuracy of our products. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will develop innovative FPGA solutions and apply your expertise in signal processing, data analysis, and interface integration.
Job Description
* Responsibility for modularization, signal processing, data analysis, and interfaces to hardware and firmware
* Independent development of concepts and requirement analyses, including technical evaluation and interdisciplinary coordination
* Implementation of concepts in HDL modules (Verilog / VHDL)
* Verification and automation of tests to ensure the quality of FPGA modules
* Validation of functionality in real hardware and measuring instruments
* Development, maintenance, and documentation of evaluation logic, communication interfaces, and data processing
* Management of interfaces between sensors, FPGA, and various platforms (e.g., microcontrollers, PCs)
Qualifications
* Completed technical education in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field (HTL/FH/TU)
* Solid knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog and/or VHDL
* Experience with FPGAs and development environments (preferably Altera/Intel)
* Proficiency in C++ and basic experience in Python for simple scripting tasks
* Experience with simulation and verification of HDL code
* Practical knowledge of code versioning and digital interfaces (e.g., SPI, UART, USB)
* Advantageous: Signal processing expertise and basic knowledge of TCL
* Analytical thinking, self-initiative, and enthusiasm for knowledge sharing
* Ability to assess, document, and implement technical requirements
* Strong teamwork and adaptability skills
* Innovative mindset and willingness to continuously develop skills and explore new technologies

This position is subject to the collective agreement governing employees in the metal sector. Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. For the vacant position it will usually be set within the following range (gross per month, excluding overtime): € 4.000 to € 6.000.
