Position Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical components for our hypercar projects. Your expertise in mechanical systems, materials, and design processes will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and safety of our vehicles. You will take the lead on complex design projects, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers. Additionally, we envision this role evolving into a Team Lead position, where you can guide the direction of future projects and contribute to the overall strategic vision of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the mechanical design and development of critical components for hypercar projects, ensuring high-performance standards and compliance with automotive industry requirements.
* Perform detailed analysis and simulations of mechanical systems using tools like CATIA, Siemens NX, and other FEA software to assess performance, stability, and durability.
* Collaborate with aerodynamics, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate components into the overall vehicle design.
* Manage design projects from concept to production, including validation, testing, and integration phases.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, offering guidance on complex design and analysis challenges.
* Drive continuous improvements in design processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance vehicle performance and production efficiency.
* Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure the successful production and integration of components.
* Stay current with the latest advancements in automotive engineering, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
Key Requirements:
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically within the automotive industry, with a focus on high-performance or hypercar development.
* Technical Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran). Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, vibration analysis, materials, and fatigue behavior.
* Project History: Proven experience leading mechanical design projects from concept to production and testing.
* Leadership: Ability to mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and manage projects within a fast-paced environment.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to address complex engineering challenges.
* Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in lightweight materials and advanced manufacturing techniques for high-performance automotive components (e.g., composites, titanium, carbon fiber).
* Familiarity with aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and suspension systems.
* Knowledge of automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and testing protocols.
* Experience with hypercar or high-performance vehicle projects.
