The Infrastructure Lead is a strategic and technical leadership role responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure and operations. This position combines advanced technical expertise, system administration responsibilities, and leadership skills to ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and scalable IT solutions. The role requires a proactive approach to infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, team management, and vendor collaboration, while driving continuous improvement across all IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing infrastructure and IT support team, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
* Build and sustain a culture of continuous improvement, inclusion, and alignment with organizational goals.
* Manage team performance, providing clear objectives, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Infrastructure Strategy and Management
* Develop and implement the organization's IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Oversee and manage core architecture, including Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, virtualization, servers, storage, networking, telephony, and collaboration platforms.
* Deliver infrastructure services and projects while driving systems toward their agreed target states.
* Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of IT infrastructure to meet current and future business needs.
* Modernize and uplift the organization's infrastructure and cloud environments to enhance operational efficiency and security.
* Manage business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
System Administration and Technical Operations
* Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, VMware, and cloud platforms.
* Proficiency in AWS services such as VPCs, EC2, RDS, S3, and Amazon Connect is essential.
* Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery testing to ensure system integrity and data security.
* Manage end-user computing environments, including hardware, software, and collaboration tools such as M365, Teams, and SharePoint.
* Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
* Oversee IT asset management, including procurement, licensing, and lifecycle management.
Cybersecurity and Compliance
* Oversee information security measures and ensure compliance with standards.
* Conduct risk assessments, implement cybersecurity strategies, and respond to cyber incidents effectively.
* Monitor and report on key cybersecurity performance indicators.
Vendor and Commercial Management
* Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost optimization.
* Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and oversee outsourcing/insourcing arrangements.
* Analyze costs, value, and risks to recommend and implement infrastructure upgrades and cost-saving initiatives.
Project Delivery and Operational Excellence
* Lead and deliver complex infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
* Analyze technical and operational risks, driving innovation and enhancements across IT systems.
* Manage service levels, ensuring uptime, compliance, and optimal performance.
* Oversee the Helpdesk and Infrastructure teams, ensuring excellent customer service and issue resolution.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring trust and transparency in IT initiatives.
* Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for technology improvements and innovation.
* Act as the primary escalation point for support and infrastructure-related issues.
About You
Experience and Expertise
* 6–10 years of experience managing IT infrastructure and support operations in enterprise environments.
* Proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure and cloud projects.
* Extensive experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Azure, and M365.
* Deep understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, and risk management frameworks.
