The Role & The Team
Reporting to the Metrics & Reporting Development Lead, the Senior Air Traffic Management (ATM) Performance Analyst will play a leading role in the development of new methodologies for evaluating Air Traffic Management performance, identifying areas for improvement and the impact of implementing new concepts or technologies.
The Senior ATM Performance Analyst will work within a small team to develop methods and write code following established development frameworks that will be used to provide analysis on new air traffic concepts and evaluate air traffic operations.
The role undertakes modelling & analysis, develops performance metrics, new analysis methods, and designs & produces effective reports to present modelling/analysis results to both internal and external audiences.
The Senior ATM Performance Analyst is expected to apply their expertise to complex data and draw from relevant experience to support and improve outcomes for Airservices and its customers.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
* Take on leadership roles on some projects.
* Assist team leaders and the Network Performance & Analysis Manager in planning and future direction.
* Show a high level of innovation and initiative.
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications, knowledge, and skills:
* Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, computational science or a related discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years professional experience or post-graduate qualification in one or more of the following fields: data science, machine learning, numerical analysis; statistics or a closely related quantitative discipline.
* Extensive programming experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Matlab, C, R, advanced SQL.
* Experience in following established development processes.
* Ability to write concise technical reports and write to a non-technical executive-level.
* Experience in data wrangling, preparation and gathering data from multiple sources; including dealing with incomplete data and difficult to match records.
* Experience in the analysis of complex data using modern data science methods (statistical analysis, numerical analysis, machine learning, optimisation).
* Experience in data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI).
