The Childcare Leadership Alliance (CLA) was formed to work with communities within the Isaac Regional Council area to develop strategic and innovative solutions that will empower childcare operators to attract, retain, and upskill early childhood educators and teachers, commencing with a pilot of strategies in Moranbah and Dysart.
This work requires a whole-of-community approach, and we are drawing on the insights and ideas of the community (including the Isaac Regional Council, mining operators, childcare centre managers and staff, parents and families, and community groups) to help us design long-term, sustainable solutions.
We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful individual to join our team as a Senior Program Officer for our fast-paced not-for-profit project. This role requires someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, excels at problem-solving, and possesses exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our NFP initiative, ensuring effective coordination, communication, and delivery.
Astute Early Years Specialists is the Project Manager for the CLA and the project is funded by BHP / BMA.
The role
As a Senior Program Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our initiative. You will ensure effective coordination, communication, and delivery of our programs. This role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Project Administration:
You’ll be responsible for overseeing the various administrative aspects of the project to ensure its successful execution and completion. This role is pivotal in supporting the project team by handling a range of tasks that keep the project on track, including but not limited to: documentation and record keeping, scheduling coordination, communication, budget and financial review, supporting resource management, keeping a risk register, and developing reports, papers and briefs.
Program Delivery:
You’ll co-design, plan and deliver programmes, workshops, papers, toolkits etc; engage with stakeholders individually and at scale, mobilise resources; implement the programs, monitor and evaluate progress; advocate and raise awareness; communicate and report; and adapt based on feedback.
Partnership Management:
You’ll develop and manage partnerships, maintaining strong relationships with partners that benefit all parties involved, ensuring they are strong and mutually beneficial.
Other Important Information:
* Part-time applicants considered.
* Office engagement expected with consideration for remote work after 6 months.
* Fixed term contract position for one year.
Skills, Qualifications, and Key Attributes Required (Key Selection Criteria):
* Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Education, Business, Project Management, Community Development, Philanthropy, or related area. Current Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one. Open and current driver's license. Current child protection training, or ability to complete.
* Experience: Proven experience managing complex projects, preferably within the not-for-profit sector. Knowledge of or experience in managing projects and programs in the early childhood education and care sector is highly desirable. Experience in managing grants and funding, including grant application processes and compliance requirements. Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
* Knowledge and Skills: Proven leadership and relationship-building abilities. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organisation and time management skills. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in GSuite. Experience with Asana would be highly regarded. Ability to undertake domestic travel as required.
