THE ROLE
Join our team as Technical Account Manager. In this role you will play a key role in supporting our customers in all technical matters and driving technical growth in a dynamic industry environment. Your main responsibilities and tasks will include:
* Identify, drive and prioritize technical growth opportunities and business potentials in collaboration with Sales and Key Account Management.
* Ensure sales and profitability targets are met through close collaboration with key stakeholders, both regionally and globally.
* Initiate and implement market and customer-focused projects to support day-to-day business activities.
* Manage customer complaints and non-conformities, handling customer-specific specifications and material selection.
* Contribute to product portfolio management and manage new product development and improvement projects.
* Gather competitive and market intelligence, benchmarking against competitors and reporting market trends.
* Develop internal technical expertise through training and manage lab work, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.
* Contribute to regional and global industry strategy by defining technical positioning and assessing long-term application trends.
YOUR PROFILE
* Several years of experience in coatings application and technical pigment knowledge.
* Degree in a technical or science-based field (e.g., Chemistry or Chemical Engineering).
* Proven experience in business acumen and managing complex global teams.
* Ability to direct a lab team across multiple locations.
* Excellent English skills (written and spoken), additional languages are an advantage.
* Strong project management, networking and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in standard software applications, CRM systems and SAP; affinity for IT systems and video/graphic design software is a plus.
* Analytical, customer-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative team spirit.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Position can be filled anywhere in EMEA.
* Increased travel activity within EMEA, frequently to Ludwigshafen (Germany), where the lab is located.
