Family-owned company Nikpol, known for their on-trend interior design products and finishes, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Supervisor to join our dynamic team and help drive our procurement process. Nikpol leads the way in decorative and storage solutions for both domestic and commercial applications in decorative surfaces, specialised hardware, domestic home appliances, drawer systems, and hinges.

Job Overview: The Purchasing Supervisor will support the Purchasing Manager in overseeing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Purchasing Operations: Assist the Purchasing Manager in day-to-day procurement activities, including order placement, supplier management, and inventory control.
2. Supplier Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and resolve any issues related to deliveries or product quality.
3. Order Management: Process purchase orders, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Monitor and update order statuses as needed.
4. Inventory Management: Help maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating with warehouse and production teams.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier information, and inventory transactions. Generate reports and documentation as required.
6. Quality Assurance: Assist in evaluating supplier performance and ensuring compliance with company standards and specifications.
7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including brand, finance, production, and logistics, to ensure alignment and resolve any procurement-related issues.
8. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of more efficient procurement practices.
9. Backup Support: Provide support and cover for the Purchasing Manager during their absence, including decision-making and oversight of procurement activities.
Qualifications:
1. Education: Degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
2. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, with some experience in a supervisory or second-in-charge capacity preferred.
3. Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
5. Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
6. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
