Position Overview: The Lead Business Analyst will serve as a key strategic resource, balancing hands-on analysis work with leadership responsibilities to drive successful project outcomes. This role requires flexibility to balance strategic leadership with tactical execution, providing guidance to the organisation while maintaining the capability to be 'on the tools' when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the adoption of strategic business analysis frameworks and establish governance, standards, and best practices.
* Serve as the lead analyst on major retail transformation initiatives, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications.
* Develop strategic roadmaps for business process improvements and map end-to-end business processes to identify areas for optimisation and automation.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior business analysts, fostering a high-performing business analysis function.
* Manage complex datasets, ensuring data accuracy and creating comprehensive reports and executive summaries.
* Develop insightful data visualisations that communicate key business insights.
* Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, execution, and defect management, coordinating testing activities across multiple stakeholder groups.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, facilitating requirements gathering workshops.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders about the impact of changes and the benefits of new solutions.
* Support the PMO Manager in establishing standardised project management practices, including relevant processes, governance structures, and benefits tracking.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) is preferred.
* Extensive experience in a Senior Business Analyst role, with a high level of accountability and demonstrated leadership capability.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in process mapping tools and techniques (e.g., Visio, BPMN 2.0).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated experience in leading business analysis disciplines within projects, with a solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
