Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Sample Management Technician to handle our customer's samples and ensure their proper administration and storage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Annotate, register, receive, handover, and ship all samples using tracking systems.
* Provide analytical teams with regular updates on sample status.
* Order cool/frozen transports and providers; give samples and documents to courier; prepare shipment documents.
* Take over samples from the lab; check for completeness of shipped materials and documents.
* Store samples in appropriate conditions in fridges and freezers (<-60°C, <-20°C, 2-8°C).
* Document the storage & transfer of samples in the inventory system.
* Label incoming or outgoing samples.
* Sample aliquoting as needed.
* Review qualification documentation; coordinate maintenance activities if needed; perform temperature monitoring at least every three months.
* Prepare formal invoices for customs activities.
* Help create work instructions / SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the various laboratory service activities.
Requirements:
* Candidates must have completed vocational training as a chemistry or biology laboratory technician.
* First hands-on laboratory experience in a comparable area is required.
* Prior knowledge of GxP and rules of conduct in a chemical laboratory is preferred.
* Good IT user knowledge of Excel and SAP is an advantage.
* Fluency in English is a must, German proficiency is an advantage.
* A quality-oriented personality with an understanding of good customer service is essential.
