Job description
At KAI, we create reliability test methods and systems. For an existing power distribution test system, we plan to extend the functionality in the direction of mimicking fail-operational and highly available power distribution topologies and build up a system-level model within Matlabs Simscape.
Therefore, during your thesis project, we expect you to become a growing expert in high-level system modeling, with a strong focus on Automotive Power Distribution Topologies. This means you will need to acquire some special knowledge and perform dedicated tasks:
Learn about Infineon's Smart Power Switches and how to use them in power distribution topologies.
Improve your skills in high-level system modeling with state-of-the-art tools.
Evaluate different topologies and develop an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare them.
Design, build, and evaluate a working prototype.
Document your results by writing and submitting your Master thesis.
This thesis has to be written in cooperation with a university.Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)Duration: min. 8 months.
Profile
You are a committed master's student covering the area of Electrical Engineering, (Power-) Electronics, and System Engineering with a strong ambition for modern automotive power distribution topologies. With your hands-on mentality, you like to bring ideas to life. You have:
Knowledge and experience with lab measurements, circuit design, electro-thermal simulations (SPICE, Simscape, PLECS,…) and doing PCB layouts.
The ability to work and communicate well with our international team in English and German is a plus.
Completed most of your exams and can start right away.
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group B for bachelor students, employment group D for master students.
