We are recruiting for the following position in the “Engineering and IT Department”: Degree Program Director for “Industrial Power Electronics” (m/f/d) We are looking to appoint an academically highly qualified specialist to represent our research and education area of power electronics. The international Master's programme for industrial power electronics is already established, but there is a need for continuous further development. Additionally, you will spearhead and drive research initiatives in the domain of power electronics. Responsibilities Organization and execution of education at the master level in the field of power electronics Teaching of 10 hours per week in the field of power electronic components, systems, and circuits Supervision of Master theses Involvement in personnel planning and selection Marketing and further development of the master programme, including new topics Responsibility for counselling, selecting, and admitting students Participation in interdisciplinary activities and collaboration in internal and external projects and committees/boards Setting up, defining, and leading research projects with various industrial and scientific partners Your Profile Relevant doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Electronics Experience in acquisition and management of cooperative research and funding projects Several years of practical experience in one or more of the following fields: Design, implementation, and validation of advanced power electronic circuit topologies Modeling and simulation (electrical, magnetic, thermal, EMC, etc.) of power electronic devices, circuits, and systems Design of discrete and integrated power electronic circuits and devices Multiphysics characterization of power semiconductor devices (especially wide-bandgap) and passive components, focusing on electrical and thermal domain performance Aging and reliability aspects for power electronic devices, circuits, and components; development of appropriate tools for lifetime investigations and in situ management Nonlinear, coupled dynamic modeling and computer simulation of power electronic circuits, passive components, and semiconductor devices; model-experiment correlation, especially for electrical and thermal domains Gate driving of power semiconductors with a focus on emerging active techniques Established network in the relevant scientific community and electronics/semiconductor industry High scientific output and track record (publications, research projects) in the field of power electronics Analytical and structured thinking and acting, creativity in solution finding, adaptability, and flexibility Didactical skills and enthusiasm in teaching Excellent command of English (B2/C1 - spoken and written) Basic command of (or willingness to learn) German (B2 - spoken and written) Our Offer Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS) appreciates the motivation and great commitment of its employees and offers family-friendly conditions.
