Play a key role in shaping and executing the operations and maintenance strategy for the offshore wind project in Australia. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong technical and commercial acumen, as well as the ability to navigate industrial relations and labour union considerations.
The O&M Strategy Engineer/Manager will be responsible for:
* Strategy Development: Define and implement the O&M strategy for the offshore wind project, ensuring alignment with technical, commercial, and local regulatory requirements.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary interface with internal teams, local unions, industry stakeholders, and Belgium-based O&M experts to ensure knowledge transfer and collaboration.
* Local Supply Chain Assessment: Investigate and evaluate Australian ports, logistics, and O&M supply chain capabilities. Drive the development of required infrastructure and workforce readiness.
* Industrial Relations (IR): Work closely with Australian unions to understand and address workforce compliance, IR requirements, and labour agreements.
* Cost Analysis and Tender Support: Perform operational expenditure (OPEX) calculations and support the tender process for the 2026 auction.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Australian regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
* Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international stakeholders, leveraging industry connections.
* Cross-functional Collaboration: Provide actionable insights and strategic guidance to both technical and commercial teams.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in operations and maintenance strategy within the construction, oil & gas, or renewable energy sectors. Offshore wind experience is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, with a focus on long-term strategic outcomes.
* Understanding of O&M processes, port logistics, and supply chain infrastructure.
* Experience navigating complex commercial interfaces, including budgeting and tender processes.
* Familiarity with Australian labour laws, regulatory frameworks, and union agreements is essential.
* Willingness to travel internationally, with the ability to integrate insights from Belgium-based O&M teams into local project planning.
