About Coexistence Queensland
Coexistence Queensland, established on 1 July 2024, is an independent statutory body dedicated to enhancing sustainable coexistence across Queensland. Originally known as the GasFields Commission Queensland, our organisation has a rich history of over a decade in managing the relationships between landholders, rural communities and the onshore gas sector. With the rapid evolution of the energy landscape, our remit has expanded to include a broader range of resources and renewable energy industries.
Our mission is to bring stakeholders together to collaborate, resolve issues and achieve balanced economic, environmental and socially responsible outcomes. We facilitate better relationships between landholders, rural and regional communities and the energy and resources industries by serving as a central point of contact on coexistence matters. We also develop educational materials, provide strategic advice to government and industry and support health and wellbeing initiatives within communities.
