The role
As the Backend Developer, you will be working on developing and delivering robust software solutions. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance and scalability. You will have the unique opportunity to shape UBIMET's technology strategy, playing a critical role in building software products that transform meteorological and geospatial data into compelling customer solutions.
Your main responsibilities
1. Transform Data into Products: turning complex meteorological and geospatial data into innovative, user-friendly products.
2. Design Scalable Solutions: creation of scalable and maintainable services and APIs to provide weather data to a global audience.
3. Hands-on Development: coding using Python, Flask, Django, PostgreSQL, and Memcached, building robust backend systems.
4. Optimize Core Systems: Ensure the development of efficient backbone components that support UBIMET’s range of products, with a focus on sustainability and scalability.
5. Encourage Innovation: Promote the use of new technologies and practices that enhance performance and streamline development processes.
You’re a fit if you have
1. A passion for solving technical problems with an analytical mind.
2. Strong knowledge of Python.
3. An understanding of complex systems and typical system design patterns.
4. Experience with Linux (Debian flavors preferred).
5. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and a willingness to learn.
6. Fluency in English; German is a plus.

For legal reasons, we would like to point out that the minimum salary for this position is EUR 51.800,- gross per year. Significant overpayment is possible, depending on qualifications and experience.
