We are seeking 1 Research Engineer (f/m/d) for Computational Urban Planning - JOB ID: 242983.
* Your work will be driven by AIT’s computational urban planning workflow design within the framework of the City Intelligence Lab, identifying relevant trends and translating them into research strategies.
* You will enlarge the professional cooperation network of the organization and support the acquisition of new projects through communication with existing partners and actively approaching new partners.
* As an experienced urbanist, you will create new workflows with computational models (e.g. parametric approaches for the rapid generation of design variants) and apply them in complex urban planning projects.
* You will use your practical knowledge and planning experience to synthesize various urban design concepts through the use and development of computational models and workflows.
* You will be responsible for acquiring and managing international urban planning projects, leading interdisciplinary project teams, and communicating with customers for developing new services and tools.
* You will successfully acquire, develop, and lead relevant projects with clients, achieving a real impact by assisting urban design and planning with novel digital techniques for the urban development practice of the future.
* You will work with a team of experts to develop/evaluate urban designs based on computational models and digital workflows in the context of urban planning, energy, mobility, and climate.
* In this role, you will become part of a well-established organization and international player in applied research for innovative urban design and planning solutions.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:
* Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, Urbanism, or related fields.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in international urban planning projects.
* Experience in funded project acquisition and bidding processes including proposal writing and management is an asset.
* Familiarity with design computation tools like Grasshopper for Rhino3D (knowledge in GIS would be an advantage).
* German and English language skills in writing and presenting are essential.
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38.5 h / week) according to the collective agreement is EUR 57,890. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
