What you will bring:
We are seeking a passionate, driven and pragmatic State Operations Manager who can deliver our vision of operational excellence and strategic customer relationships.
In this exciting and challenging role, you will be a key contact for our valued customers with operational oversight of our Transport and FCL Depots as the primary focus, whilst having oversight of remaining divisions of Rail, 3PL and FAK (Including AQIS and Border Force). Working in collaboration with our highly capable teams you will ensure every decision is driven by safety, service, and cost.
This position suits a senior leader with industry experience who can influence strategy with a proactive approach to relationship management. Through strong leadership and the setting of high-performance standards and processes, you will be well positioned to drive accountability, results, profitability, strategy and impeccable customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Live the Values of ACFS: Customer, Safety, People & Teamwork, Innovation & Performance.
2. Provide operational and commercial leadership with overall P&L responsibility of all divisions in Victoria, whilst having a very strong focus on the key driving divisions of Transport and FCL Depots.
3. Manage customer relationships, building and retaining our customer base ensuring SLA’s are in line with contractual agreements.
4. Lead and optimise the Transport operations creating synergies across the fleet.
5. Drive operational excellence through strategy, coaching and mentoring.
6. Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
7. Demonstrate success in developing and executing business strategies to drive profitability and market share.
8. Identify talent and succession planning.
9. Set performance expectations and monitor staff progress, developing a high performing and engaged team.
10. Maintain an understanding of legislation applicable to Victoria with ability to act in accordance with (but not limited to) NHVR, CoR, WHS Laws and all company policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will bring:
1. A minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Senior Manager in a large transport operation, or General Manager in a smaller transport business.
2. Strong business acumen.
3. Pragmatic, lateral thinker that can influence outcomes.
4. Strong working knowledge of Transport and 3PL operations.
5. Ownership of a P&L and transforming a good financial results into great results.
6. Track record of mentoring, leading and managing a team to achieve desired business outcomes.
7. Strong knowledge of and demonstrated experience in change management and Lean principles desirable.
