The Opportunity
Are you a technically skilled professional with a background in finance, insolvency, or credit risk—ready to take the next step into a high-impact leadership role? Join us as a Service Manager in our Trade Credit Insurance team and help drive innovation, improve processes, and guide our talented team through complex, high-value claims.
This is an exciting next step for someone who thrives on technical challenge, wants to break into or grow within the insurance industry, and enjoys leading from the front.
Your new role
1. Lead complex, high-value claims, acting as the primary escalation point and providing expert guidance on insolvency, bad debt, and default matters.
2. Oversee portfolio workflows, ensuring timely, accurate processing of claims and maintaining service excellence across the team.
3. Drive operational improvements by identifying process gaps and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
4. Coach and support a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and leading with a “player-coach” mindset.
5. Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, risk, and finance teams to align strategy and support business objectives.
6. Promote innovation by challenging the status quo, embracing technology, and contributing to a more modern, agile claims function.
7. Support succession planning and capability growth, mentoring junior team members and helping build future leadership within the function.
About you
We’re looking for someone who’s not only confident in their technical abilities but who brings maturity, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to leadership.
To succeed in this role, you’ll likely bring:
1. Strong experience in credit risk, debt recovery, insolvency, or financial services
2. You’ve likely worked in accounting, banking, insolvency, or a senior commercial finance position, and know your way around complex financials
3. Exposure to complex commercial or business-to-business transactions
4. The ability to manage large datasets, financial reports, and documentation in high-pressure scenarios
5. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills—you’ll regularly interact with internal teams, external advisors, and key clients
6. A willingness to lead from the front, support others, and grow the capabilities of the team
7. Experience in trade finance, bonds, or surety is highly regarded, but not essential
8. Insurance industry experience is desirable but not an essential for this role
