The main purpose of the internship is to support the efforts for increasing the visibility of the work of the Waste and Environmental Safety Section, while gaining practical work experience in the field of outreach and communication. The internship provides opportunities to gain skills in the creation, management, and promotion of content to advertise the Waste and Environmental Safety Section activities.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1. Support the organization and promotion of online webinars.
2. Assist in collecting statistics and contribute to the analysis of webinars' impact in Member States.
3. Assist with the development and content management of the Waste and Environmental Safety Section related web pages on the IAEA website, social media channels, and other webpages in waste safety.
4. Support the development of web-based education and training activities in radiation protection, and the corresponding outreach materials, in English and other UN languages.
5. Assist with creating content to advertise the work, events and publications of the Waste and Environmental Safety Section.
Qualifications and Experience
6. University Degree - Communications, International Relations or a related field.
7. Experience with social media (Asset)
8. Ability to comprehend technical content (such as radiation protection) (Asset)
9. Experience with Adobe suite such as Adobe Photoshop, Premier Pro, Illustrator and InDesign, and/or e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline (Asset)
Applicant Eligibility
10. Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree.
11. Candidates may apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree.
12. Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
13. Good written and spoken English essential; fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish or Russian) an asset.
14. Candidates must attach two signed letters of recommendation to their application.
