Freelance Data Scientist - NGS & Genomic Data Visualisation
Are you a Data Scientist with expertise in NGS data pipelines and visualisation? We're working with a leading European laboratory specialising in advanced leukaemia diagnostics. Their research-driven team is at the forefront of genomics, AI-driven diagnostics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) innovation.
They are looking for a freelancer to support their data science initiatives, working closely with lab leaders to implement and optimise bioinformatics workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimise Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data pipelines.
* Design and implement data visualisation tools for genomic research.
* Collaborate with lab leaders, bioinformaticians, and research scientists to translate complex biological data into actionable insights.
* Ensure best practices in data integrity, reproducibility, and scalability.
Requirements:
* PhD in Bioengineering, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
* 3+ years of industry experience applying data science in a biotech or genomics setting.
* Strong proficiency in Python and/or R for data processing and visualisation.
* Experience with NGS tools and pipelines (e.g., GATK, Nextflow, Snakemake).
* Understanding of laboratory research workflows and best practices.
* Freelance / Contract (initial 6-month engagement, with potential for extension).
* Location: Remote, with occasional on-site meetings in Munich.
* Start Date: ASAP.
