The following position is available to strengthen our team of the Evidence-based Medicine and Evaluation Department at the Faculty of Health and Medicine:
Early-Stage Researcher – PhD Student (m/f/d)
30 hrs./week

The Early-Stage Researcher - PhD Student(m/f/d) will be tasked with conducting methods research to advance the methodological approaches used in evidence synthesis with a special focus on rapid reviews.
* Independently conduct scientific research aimed at advancing the methodologies used to rapidly conduct valid evidence syntheses.
* Actively collaborate in evidence syntheses and methods research contributing as a co-investigator.
* Teach courses in clinical epidemiology and evidence-based medicine to undergraduate students, supervise bachelor theses.
* Publish research findings in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals.
* Engage actively in both national and international conferences, presenting research findings and networking with peers in the scientific community.
* Participate in global research collaborations, such as those with Cochrane or JBI.
We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:
* Completion of a diploma or master's degree in a field related to health sciences (criterion must be met by 31 August 2025 at latest).
* Basic knowledge in the concepts of evidence-based medicine/practice, public health, epidemiology, and statistics, demonstrated e.g. by successful completion of relevant courses.
* Proficiency in scientific writing, demonstrated by scientific publications or master thesis.
* Excellent command of spoken and written English, at least at a B2 level.
In addition, the following criteria are desirable:
* Experience in qualitative research methods.
* Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative evidence synthesis.
* Academic achievements, such as publications, presentations, or awards.
* Flexibility, resilience, and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
* Command of the German language (min. B2).
Your perspective:
* Part-time position (30 hours/week) initially limited to 30 September 2028.
* Minimum salary of EUR 3,714.80 gross per month (14x) on a full-time basis.
