We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Pastoral Associate/Manager to join our parish team. This full-time role (4 weekdays + 1 weekend day) offers a unique blend of responsibilities, with a focus on parish management (3 days) and pastoral ministry (2 days). Key Responsibilities
Parish Management (3 days):
* Oversee the daily operations of the parish office, ensuring smooth workflows and efficient processes.
* Supervise and support administrative staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Manage parish records, including baptisms, weddings, funerals, and financial data.
* Develop and monitor budgets, oversee BAS statements, and prepare for financial audits.
* Manage facility bookings, liaise with contractors, and coordinate building and grounds maintenance.
* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety, safeguarding, and privacy legislation.
* Maintain parish databases, manage communication platforms, and oversee the parish website and bulletins.
* Organise and manage parish events, ensuring logistics and resources are in place.
* Coordinate training for staff and volunteers to meet mandatory Archdiocesan requirements.
Pastoral Ministry (2 days):
* Plan and deliver pastoral programs, including sacraments (baptisms, marriages, Confirmation) and liturgical celebrations.
* Provide formation and training for liturgical ministers and other parish volunteers.
* Lead community-building initiatives to engage parishioners in active ministry participation.
* Support faith education programs, including RCIA and sacramental preparation, encouraging parishioner involvement.
* Offer pastoral care to individuals and families, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
* Collaborate with parish committees and councils to develop and implement parish plans.
* Organise retreats, faith education sessions, and community outreach initiatives.
* Coordinate mandatory safeguarding practices and promote a safe, respectful parish environment.
* Liaise with the wider Archdiocesan community to ensure alignment with pastoral and administrative standards.
About You:
* Proven leadership and management experience, preferably in a parish or community setting.
* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* A passion for pastoral care and fostering faith-based community initiatives.
* Familiarity with Catholic liturgical practices and sacramental programs.
* Commitment to the ethos and mission of the Church.
