In our cluster we are developing a future of internet banking – an AI driven banking chatbot Hey George to help millions of our customers in Europe with their daily banking requirements as well as with improving their financial health.
As a Data Scientist, you will closely collaborate with colleagues from business and IT to answer questions regarding the chatbot's performance and optimization. We will rely on you to build machine learning (ML) models or other solutions to identify patterns in our data and extract valuable business insights. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for modelling and algorithms.
Responsibilities:
* Analyse chatbot usage and its user’s requirements (in collaboration with product colleagues) to drive chatbot feature development across six markets.
* Deliver typical data science tasks in data-driven projects, including data pipelines and monitoring engineering, development of predictive models, text classification, and conversation understanding.
* Work independently and in a team, proactively seeking assistance from team and partner departments to deliver on time.
* Support all phases of the full Data Science process, focusing on data and feature engineering, as well as optimizing parameters within chosen model classes.
* Learn how to serve banking business owners, even in international projects, through a strong interest in data and technology.
Qualifications:
* A genuine curiosity and ability to bring innovative problem solutions into practical application in the banking industry.
* Good understanding of statistical methods and common machine learning algorithms.
* In-depth experience with data analysis and visualization.
* Experience in development and implementation of generative AI solutions (prompt-engineering techniques for Large Language Models, training of LLMs).
* Good knowledge of Python, Spark, and SQL (with practical experience).
* Expertise in Databricks.
* Practical experience with agentic systems (e.g. LangGraph).
* Practical knowledge of JavaScript (since our backend runs on Node.js).
* Basic understanding of the banking business.
* Language skills: English full proficiency, German or Czech intermediate is a plus.
* A Bachelor’s or Master's degree with a focus on quantitative disciplines.
* Minimum of 3 years practical experience as a Data Scientist.
