The Role: Business Manager
This is more than a Practice Manager role. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Manager to take full responsibility for the operations and growth of our practice. This is a senior leadership role, encompassing both traditional practice management and high-level strategic functions. Reporting directly to the shareholders, you will have legal and fiduciary responsibilities, ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Management – Oversee and optimise daily operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of administrative and clinical functions.
* Financial Management – Manage all financial aspects, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, payroll, and banking.
* Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, and meet targets and KPIs.
* Team Leadership & HR – Lead and support both clinical and administrative staff, fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
* Business Development – Identify and capitalise on new opportunities to expand the practice’s reach and services.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance – Ensure the practice meets all regulatory and industry standards while maintaining the highest level of patient care.
* Policy & Process Improvement – Develop and refine policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
* Stakeholder Engagement – Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, staff, referrers, and the broader community.
* Technology & Systems – Oversee the use and optimisation of practice management software and financial systems.
* Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risks to safeguard the practice’s reputation and financial security.
About You
We are looking for a driven and highly capable leader with a strong background in the health or allied health sectors and in business and financial management. You will be confident in overseeing all aspects of a business, from financial operations to staff management, and have the ability to balance day-to-day tasks with strategic planning.
* Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and payroll.
* Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to master new software systems.
* Demonstrated success in business development, strategic planning, and operational leadership.
* Strong team leadership and HR management skills, with experience in performance management and staff development.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Experience in a similar management role within a health or medical practice.
* Familiarity with practice management software.
* Qualifications in business, finance, or healthcare management.
* Knowledge of the local healthcare sector in Redland City.
