The role
The Mermaid Waters Hotel which is operated by the ALH Hotel Group, is currently finalising a multi million dollar renovation throughout the property. We're seeking another experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic management team. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our renovated hotel located in the heart of Mermaid Waters, Queensland.
Key responsibilities
* Assist the Venue Manager in leading and motivating a high-performing team of hospitality professionals
* Oversee the smooth running of all hotel operations, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and front-of-house
* Ensure exceptional customer service and a memorable guest experience
* Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic business plans
* Manage budgets, inventory, and other financial responsibilities
* Identify and address operational issues, implementing effective solutions
* Assist with staff recruitment, training, and performance management
* Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment
What we're looking for
* Minimum 12 month's experience in a similar assistant manager or supervisory role in the hospitality industry
* Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
* Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service
* Adept at problem-solving and decision-making
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to driving business growth
* Relevant qualifications in hospitality management such as an Approved Managers License, RMLV Certification, RSA & RSG accreditation would be highly regarded
