Head of Procurement – Drive Strategic Innovation and Lead with Impact

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Head of Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in both shaping and executing our procurement function. This is a hands-on position, where you’ll be actively involved in procurement and contract management activities while also leading the development and implementation of strategies, frameworks, and processes to establish and embed best practices.
Your leadership will extend across the organisation, driving your procurement function to deliver exceptional services with a strong emphasis on value for money, governance, and innovation. By fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll ensure that STC’s procurement operations align with its vision of excellence.
You will also be responsible for:
* Team Leadership and Establishment: Build, direct, mentor, and empower your team to achieve high performance, aligning with STC’s strategic directions and embracing our evolving culture.
* Strategic Procurement: Drive initiatives that deliver value for money while enhancing governance and organisational capability across people, process, technology, and content.
* Compliance Expertise: Ensure adherence to procurement regulations, including Victorian Government Purchasing Board (VGPB) guidelines and the Financial Management Act 1994, while mitigating risks and delivering long-term outcomes.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build influential relationships with senior executives, suppliers, government bodies, and industry forums to achieve STC’s goals and objectives. Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, legal, and other teams across both the organisation and externally.
* Change Agent: Lead the evolution of procurement policies, strategies, and systems to achieve excellence in governance and value delivery.
Your Skills and Experience
