Oracle Database Administrator (0.25 FTE)
Responsibilities:
* Perform regular patching, upgrades, and health checks on Oracle databases to ensure system stability and security.
* Manage and maintain Oracle databases across all environments, including development, testing, staging, and production.
* Provide support for Oracle databases hosted in Azure and RedHat environments, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
* Support the migration and upgrade of Oracle systems from version 12 to 19C in collaboration with third-party vendors (e.g., TCS).
* Administer and optimize development and test environments operating on Oracle 19C.
* Oversee staging and production environments, ensuring the smooth upgrade process to Oracle 19C.
* Provide technical support during the knowledge transfer process to facilitate seamless transitions and onboarding.
* Work closely with clients to implement, maintain, and optimize Oracle database systems according to their requirements.
* Ensure the Knowledge Base is consistently updated with accurate, comprehensive, and current information related to Oracle systems.
* Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve technical issues to maintain optimal performance.
* Create and maintain documentation for database administration tasks, adhering to industry best practices and organizational standards.
Requirements
* Extensive experience managing Oracle databases, including patching, upgrading, and conducting technical health checks.
* Hands-on experience with Oracle 19C, including its configuration and administration.
* Proficiency in administering Oracle databases in Azure and RedHat environments.
* Demonstrated ability to handle migrations and upgrades of Oracle systems, particularly from version 12 to 19C.
* Experience managing databases in development, testing, staging, and production environments.
* Ability to work closely with third-party service providers to ensure effective database maintenance and support.
* Expertise in diagnosing and resolving technical issues within Oracle database environments.
* Proficiency in maintaining and updating technical documentation and the organization’s Knowledge Base.
* Strong understanding of performance tuning and optimization techniques for Oracle databases.
