Paper republic is one of the world's fastest growing brand of premium notebooks and leather accessories. We design, produce and ship our notebooks directly to 300.000 customers worldwide through our own ecommerce website. We are a dynamic international team of 70 people with more than 20 nationalities who like to develop and implement ideas together. Based in the heart of the 9th district in Vienna, paper republic HQ spread over 1000sqm, bringing together production, warehouse, office and shop, making it a unique, fun and beautiful place to work. It's naturally that the next step for us is to open our own shop in the centre of Vienna, to welcome our global community and offer them a unique offline moment and immersive brand experience. This unique concept will take place in a prime location in the 1 st district and combine a retail space where to find our product assortment, a space dedicated to the customisation of products, a café where to sit down and start writing or discuss a next customisation idea, and an event space for workshop and activities. To help us make this dream come true, we are looking for a proactive, hands-on Shop Manager to join us before the opening to help set up retail operations, establish efficient systems, and build an exceptional in-store experience, in one of the best locations of Vienna. The Shop Manager will play a critical role in launching and managing the paper republic shop. This position requires someone with strong operational skills, retail experience, and leadership abilities to support the setup process and oversee daily store activities post-launch. In the pre-opening phase, the shop manager will help establish the POS system, inventory processes, and customer service workflows. After the store opens, they will be responsible for team leadership, sales performance, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. Shop Manager (m/f/d)I) Pre-Opening (April–July 2025) Location: Vienna, 9th district Reporting to: Project Manager POS & Systems Setup: Implement the Point of Sale (POS) system. Define efficient checkout, payment, and returns workflows. Ensure smooth integration with inventory management software. Operations & Logistics: Assist in defining store policies & operational procedures. Support the setup of inventory tracking, and stock management. Help organise store layout, product displays, and merchandising flow. Hiring & Training: Get excellent product and brand knowledge by taking over the shop corner in our current location. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of the store team. Develop and implement staff training programs. Ensure team readiness for sales, customer service, and store procedures. II) Post-Opening (August 2025 & beyond) Location: Vienna, 1st district Reporting to: Head of Sales Team Leadership & Sales Performance: Lead, motivate, and manage the store team. Set sales goals and KPIs, ensuring the team meets revenue targets. Provide regular coaching and performance feedback. Implement upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximise revenue. Retail Operations & Sales Execution: Maintain efficient stock management & inventory control. Oversee daily store activities, ensuring efficiency and a seamless shop experience. Implement and refine visual merchandising strategies. Customer Engagement & Community Building: Build strong customer relationships and brand loyalty. Organise in-store events, workshops, and collaborations. Act as a key brand ambassador and ensure a premium in-store experience aligned with our brand values. Ability to work on Saturdays in the post-opening phase Data-driven mindset with an ability to optimize sales and store performance. Hands-on experience setting up store processes & systems. Strong operational background (POS, stock management, retail workflows). Passion for customer experience & personalised services, brand storytelling, and community-building. Fluent German and English, other languages are a plus. Experience in visual merchandising & event coordination is a plus.
