Job Description:
Hey there!
We’re an internationally renowned and successful engineering and consulting company with over 3,000 employees across more than 45 locations worldwide. We’re looking to expand our IT infrastructure team (currently 10 members strong) and need a senior IT system engineer (server application) to join us in Rum near Innsbruck or Vienna.
What You’ll Do:
1. Be the main responsible for an array of application servers (we split them between team members).
2. Design, launch, manage, and improve our server systems at our main location and branches.
3. Troubleshoot server services and applications like the pro you are.
4. Create detailed technical concepts for server applications in collaboration with our specialized departments and security team.
5. Manage Microsoft SQL databases.
6. Update IT security guidelines, policies, and organizational instructions.
7. Document systems and processes.
8. Support and develop our (still small) VDI environment.
9. Collaborate with and train the service management team.
10. Mentor and support our eager-to-learn juniors.
Qualification
1. A degree in computer science or a similar qualification/training.
2. Solid knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Azure (Entra ID, Intune), SQL Server).
3. Several years of experience with Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
4. A good understanding of IT security.
5. Excellent English skills (all team internal meetings are held in English).
6. German skills are not required but will make your life easier in contact with various stakeholders outside of the team.
7. Top-notch communication and teamwork abilities, high initiative.
8. An analytical and solution-oriented approach to work.
9. Enough experience to lead internal IT infrastructure projects and ask the right questions before starting implementation.
