Learn more about Vienna Your New Role As Mechanical Engineer, you will be a key player in the execution of projects crucial to decarbonization of Vienna by 2040, such as: Modernisation of existing energy generation facilities (e.g. upgrading waste incineration plants) Construction of new alternative energy generation plants (e.g. large heat pumps, geothermal, wind farms) Construction of hydrogen production facilities (e.g. electrolysers) Construction of combined generation plants for heating and cooling energy as well as electricity Construction of seasonal heat storage facilities Construction of waste handling facilities contributing to the circular economy (e.g. phosphorus recovery). Your key responsibilities will include: Design and specify mechanical systems for new and existing industrial plants and facilities contributing to the energy transition and the circular economy. Integrate advanced technologies to enhance the efficiency of mechanical components. Ensure adherence to pressure equipment directive, codes, standards, and environmental regulations. Cover all project phases (concept design, preliminary design, procurement, supervision of detail design, site supervision and commissioning). Contribute to project deliverables (equipment design and layouts, cost estimates, material choice, interface definitions, layout proposals, technical specifications) Coordinate with other trades (mainly process, electrical and civil engineering) to guarantee best project quality. Interact with clients and suppliers to ensure a successful project execution. Lead work packages. Your New Team: Design and optimize mechanical systems for power generation in green energy plants. Integrate innovative technologies into mechanical designs for enhanced efficiency. Ensure compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations. Oversee construction and installation of mechanical components, ensuring quality and safety. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve seamless project execution and meet objectives. About You: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Practical experience from within consulting / EPC environment as a Mechanical Engineer Project experience within energy/power generation e.g. power plants, the power-to-X related sector or Gas/LNG sector Experience of working with waste cranes / bunker gates for energy facilities a major plus Exhibit flexibility in adapting to various project technologies such as gas, biomass, and hydrogen.
