At Sportradar, we are building a world-class, cloud-native, low-latency computer vision inference pipeline to bring computer vision workloads to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection.
We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer in Europe to join our Production Automation team to support our computer vision developments and help us bring this emerging technology to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection in the future.
As a form of AI that enables the visual world to be interpreted and understood in unprecedented depth, Computer Vision will provide fans with evermore immersive experiences whilst delivering richer insights to teams and leagues. Computer Vision is transforming sports data collection processes, providing a 100-fold increase in the depth of statistics and data available.
THE TEAM:
We are looking for an addition to a group of highly experienced engineers in the Production Automation Team as a Senior Platform Engineer / Senior Linux Systems Administrator. Working closely with engineering teams to foster a strong culture of collaboration and system development lifecycles.
Through the use of AI and patented algorithms, Sportradar's Automated Capture System films and live streams high-level sporting events from all over the world without any human interaction. Develop and support high-quality digital solutions, with a focus on building operational awareness, supporting configuration management and ensuring quality.
THE CHALLENGE:
To succeed in this role, you are pragmatic and solution-oriented. You should have a passion for system engineering, extensive experience with hybrid-cloud solutions, and an expert-level understanding of software quality, reliability, release, and scaling principles. You are not only technically adept but also capable of thinking strategically and working effectively with diverse teams. You should be proactive, constantly seeking to improve and innovate the platform's capabilities while ensuring its stability and reliability.
There are several key challenge areas:
1. Defining and implementing best practices for a global distributed server architecture
2. Optimizing, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux systems on a global level
3. Creating or improving software deployment methods
4. Creating a seamless Linux upgrade process for all systems
5. Ensuring the platform is secure from external threats and internal vulnerabilities. This involves regular security audits, implementing best practices in security, and staying updated with the latest in cybersecurity.
6. Managing cloud resources and other infrastructure components efficiently to optimize costs without compromising on performance or reliability.
