About the Opportunity
The Civil Litigation Section of the Crown Solicitor's Office is recruiting for Senior Solicitors at the LEC4 and LEC5 classification. The successful applicants will provide high quality legal advice and representation on matters of varying complexity to clients of the Crown Solicitor’s Office. Responsibilities include:
1. Providing quality legal advice and representation for government across a wide range of Civil Litigation matters.
2. Representing the State in common law claims arising from persons who were sexually or physically abused in State Care.
3. Providing advice and representation across a range of other claims and litigation as required.

About the Business
The Crown Solicitor's Office provides legal services to government specifically to Ministers, departments and other public sector agencies. This includes providing legal advice, conducting a wide range of litigation including representation before courts and tribunals, negotiating and drafting for commercial property and general commercial transactions, drafting and producing a broad range of other legal documents, conducting summary prosecutions, Magistrates' appeals and native title claims, and land conveyancing and investigation.
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Some out of hours work may be required. Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain an unrestricted practicing certificate within South Australia.
