Do you want to use your talent and drive to make a real difference?
sequestra builds the most advanced technology for capturing CO2 in mineral residues. These are returned to the value chain as sustainable building products. Our processes are at the heart of a segment with the potential to reduce global CO2 emissions by 4 Gt.
At sequestra, you will help shape a company that is committed to becoming the global frontrunner in carbonation intelligence. We are based in Vienna and are looking for someone who supports our team in the field of hardware & data integration for our lab-scale carbonation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development, assembly, and optimization of experimental setups for CO2 sequestration trials - working hands-on with sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
* Collaborate with automation and process experts to integrate instrumentation, measurement systems, and automation components.
* Co-develop and implement a data model (including database and interfaces) to systematically capture, organize, and analyze experimental data.
* Build and improve data workflows and interfaces to ensure seamless data capture from experimental trials to analysis-ready datasets.
* Select and integrate suitable hardware and software tools (e.g., sensors, PLCs, microcontrollers, data loggers).
* Contribute to the design of control and monitoring systems, including supporting control logic and data visualization.
* Troubleshoot technical issues in both hardware and data pipelines, proposing creative and pragmatic solutions.
* Work closely with the R&D team to translate experimental needs into concrete technical solutions (mechanical, electrical, data).
Skills & Qualifications:
* Enrolled Master's Student in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with automation focus, Systems Engineering, or similar (degree is a plus).
* Hands-on attitude with hard- & software skills - we are looking for someone who can build AND code stuff!
* Experience in hardware prototyping, lab setups, mechanical and electrical assembly.
* Familiarity with instrumentation and measurement technology (e.g., sensors, actuators, controllers, DAQ systems).
* Some experience in automation systems (PLC) is a plus.
* Solid understanding of data workflows, ideally with experience in database design (SQL), data structuring, and backend logic to manage experimental data.
* Programming/scripting knowledge for data capture and integration (Python).
* Proactive in staying on top of industry trends and advancements in CCUS technologies.
Why Join Us?
* Become a part of a mission-driven company at the forefront of climate technology.
* You will work closely with automation, process and C-level management, acting between physical systems and the digital backbone.
* The possibility of being responsible for a substantial part of technological development from day 1.
* Opportunity for rapid career growth and development.
* We offer an attractive salary package (minimum 40k € gross per year on a fulltime basis according to your qualifications).
* Work in one of the most exquisite offices in Vienna.
If you’re passionate about making a real difference and love solving engineering challenges from hardware design to backend data flows, this role is for you!
