HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking applications for the position of a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager with 3-5 years of required experience to take the leading role in health, safety and environmental aspects of the company operations. You’ll be part of a supportive team, backed by your Leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals in the team. This role is a full-time position Monday to Friday.
Today NOJA Power holds ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and other third-party accreditations. This position chairs a monthly HSE meeting attended by the Managing Director and a representative from every department in order to define and manage the company's Health and Safety Program.
Reporting to General Manager - QHSE, your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Ensure to provide legislative and regulatory assistance on all issues associated with safety and environment and drive effective compliance programs to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, codes, and license requirements.
* Pushing and overseeing the safety culture and reporting on the company’s safety plan and environment initiatives.
* Ensure safety & environmental management systems across the business are implemented and maintained to meet compliance and maintain NOJA Power ISO systems.
* Conduct planned internal and external audits in a timely manner to identify and improve existing gaps at NOJA as part of Continual Improvement Campaign.
* Ensure effective injury management program is in place and promptly investigate all related incidents by driving continuous improvement initiatives following incidents with stakeholders.
* Coordinating the health and wellbeing programs within the company.
* Undertake risk assessments, site audits and recommend areas for improvement where required.
* Offering guidance and advice on Work Cover and facilitate return to work activities in consultation with HR department.
* Other responsibilities for the position include but not limited to are Energy system management 50001, supporting data for ISO 14067 carbon footprint.
* Monitoring and working with the suppliers on the reduction of the environmental impact and carbon footprint of NOJA Power product through its life cycle.
* Working with the suppliers on compliance with the government requirements to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Act and other.
* Regularly accessing and reviewing IMS (Integrated Management System) manual, policies and procedures. Focal point for implementing and maintaining cloud-based IMS system.
* Perform other activities as directed by the QHSE Manager.
What You’ll bring:
* Diploma or Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety.
* Certification in Risk Management or similar is advantage but not mandatory.
* 5S experience is advantage but not mandatory.
* Previous experience in implementation and operation of ISO systems (ISO 14001, ISO 14067, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001) in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in maintaining Document Management systems related to HSE.
* Lead or Internal Auditor Qualifications.
* Planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Self-starter with the focus on completion of the tasks on time.
