We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
This is a field-based role primarily responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets in the workshop category. You will work closely with the sales teams to create and execute strategies, manage relationships with existing and potential clients, and support the overall growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
* Proactively seek and identify large-scale strategic business opportunities within the DIFM business segment.
* Achieve budgeted sales targets for Valvoline lubricants and associated products, including focusing on automotive car care in the market.
* Develop and implement strategies to target and engage potential clients effectively.
* Build and nurture long-term relationships with key business prospects and major clients to secure new accounts, drive growth, and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop tailored offerings that meet the specific needs of these large customers.
* Analyse performance metrics to continuously improve outreach effectiveness and lead generation activities.
To be successful, you will have:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales/business development role
* Experience in the lubrication or FMCG industry sectors preferred
* Willingness to travel, including overnight trips to regional areas
* Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
* Proven track record of sales success and business development
* Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong ability to manage your own time and prioritise tasks effectively
* Excellent business acumen and attention to detail
* Ability to convey enthusiasm and motivate sales staff towards exceptional achievement
* A proactive and positive attitude with the ability to use initiative
* The ability to be computer savvy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* A valid driver’s licence
