About the Role
The Site HR Manager is the HR leader responsible for our Flexible Paper and Films dual-plant site Zeltweg in Austria, and its ~300 employees. The site HR Manager will lead a team to help drive a positive & productive culture, build an environment of trust and accountability, and deliver HR excellence and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a strong functional partner and active member of the Site Leadership team to drive cohesive decision-making, foster collaboration, and drive the development and execution of key HR initiatives that align with business goals and Mondi HR strategy.
* Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees with specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate.
* Provide employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; escalates concerns beyond their scope to HR Business Partners (BU/Country).
* Partner closely with relevant HR Business Partners and HR CoE professionals to drive a cohesive and aligned HR agenda and execute business-specific HR strategies.
* Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical and compliant work environment.
* Lead key HR processes including performance, talent management, compensation planning, onboarding, new manager assimilation etc. incl. training.
* Partner with HR Business Partners and HR CoE's to align on and execute relevant HR projects or initiatives as needed across multiple client groups at site.
* Provide guidance and leadership for all union/works council relations and ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated and resolved.
* Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly and consistently with local laws and regulations and our company compliance regulations.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in a Human Resources related area.
* Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in a client support HR role preferably in an industry environment.
* At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources client support role.
* Sound knowledge of union/employee relations and works council management as well as local labor laws and government requirements (incl. GDPR).
* Developed (oral and written) communication and diplomacy skill set with the ability to influence others by presenting sound and logical arguments tailored to the audience.
* Hands-on self-starter who has a demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and work independently while being able to effectively navigate and partner in a matrix environment.
* Strong problem-solving skills and capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion.
* Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills.
* Passionate, employee advocate who wants to make a difference in the organization by helping employees succeed.
* Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels.
* Strong customer service focus, with a high level of responsiveness.
* Supportive team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment; ability to diffuse a tense situation.

* Strong interest in innovative HR solutions and process improvement.
* Fluent English, both written and spoken.
