Job Description:
Safeguards System, Basic Knowledge of the concepts of strengthened safeguards, verification processes, and Additional Protocol evaluation.
Qualifications, Experience, and Language Skills:
1. Bachelor's Degree - University degree in science (e.g., physics, chemistry), technology (e.g., nuclear, mechanical, or other engineering), or in an area relevant to non-proliferation studies.
2. Minimum of five years of experience in nuclear non-proliferation or safeguards information collection and analysis, or in nuclear research related to non-proliferation issues.
3. Experience in the use of information collection, processing, and analysis techniques, including advanced text retrieval techniques and databases.
4. Experience in the use of advanced software for information analysis is an asset.
5. Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration:
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $37,447, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses. Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan, and health insurance.
