Freelance Procurement Director - Pharmaceuticals - 12-Month Contract - Salzburg
A global pharmaceutical company require an experienced Procurement Director to lead the function on a major project.
Reporting into the Global Procurement Team, this individual will be responsible for managing the procurement for a highly complex CAPEX project with corporate organisational interface and alignment of global and local standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the commercial evaluation and advice on incoming bids ( EPCM, equipment, Engineering suppliers).
2. Internal alignment with internal stakeholders (e.g.) legal, SME’s and finance.
3. Act as escalation point on ongoing pending suppliers.
4. Support the technical SME in commercial questions.
5. Emphasising proactive, systematic approach to detect and avert delays to contractual milestones agreed upon.
6. Participation in project meetings to provide updates and status of documents submittals.
7. Ensure that updates are provided to all relevant stakeholders on any initiated mitigations on catch-up and improvements.
8. Review status reports for any potential problems and initiate mitigating actions for potential risk areas.
9. Visits field/suppliers on a regular basis, aligns with engineering and other stakeholders for actual status and progress (and get a view behind scene) throughout the project.
10. Reporting and updates on own packages.
11. Make and drive some RFQ’s (strategy, Tender, Evaluations negotiations and contracting) on client’s own contracts.
12. Meticulous file keeper, lead a procurement team and associated support functions using the RFQ tool used by the project.
Requirements:
13. Demonstrated ability to recognise opportunities, strongly influence the setting of direction and exceed expectations on deliverables.
14. Prior experience with controllership, product costing, and data stewardship
15. Technical proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and SAP.
16. Excellent communication/facilitation and influencing skills.

23. Degree level of education in Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Business related field or Degree level education in any discipline with relevant experience

25. Fluent in English and German
