About the role:
The Transport Manager role at Tasman Logistics involves overseeing daily operations at the Port of Brisbane, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Key responsibilities include managing teams, optimising resources, maintaining client relationships, meeting KPIs, and driving process improvements. The role requires leadership, industry expertise, and a focus on safety and customer service.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Managing operational processes to meet customer service, delivery, quality, safety, and financial objectives.
2. Supporting, mentoring, and managing operational teams to foster a culture of safety, compliance, customer service, ethics, and efficiency.
3. Coordinating company assets and labor resources based on fluctuating volumes and timeframes.
4. Reporting and adhering to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
5. Implementing process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
6. Conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions promptly.
7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
8. Liaising with customers and maintaining strong client relationships.
9. Communicating and cooperating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring the following:
1. Minimum 5 years' experience in an Operations/Transport Manager role.
2. Experience in import/export container operations. Essential.
3. Proven experience as a change agent.
4. Ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
5. Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills.
6. Sound judgment, initiative, diplomacy, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
7. KPI-driven mindset, including experience in Power BI reporting.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and WMS/TMS software.
9. Knowledge of legislative requirements including NHVAS, CoR (Fatigue Management, Load Planning, and Mass Management).
10. Flexibility, agility, and ability to meet deadlines while achieving high performance outcomes.
