Contract position (May 5, 2025 to August 29, 2025)

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Distribution, the Summer Student Supply Chain will provide administrative support to streamline shipping and receiving processes, inventory control, standard operating procedures, claims management, etc.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Establish a process to collect and track ongoing costs in our 3rd party service providers split by type of work (receive, ship, thaw, blast freeze, case pick, order process, etc.).
2. Run a standardized aging inventory report, allowing frontline to action items that are going to be wasted due to shelf life in advance of expiration or compliance matrix.
3. Identify/document our SOPs and post in relevant locations in our DC. Additional safety signage (stops, cautions, doors, LOTO, working at heights, etc.).
4. Customer Claim on dock Sofina audits. Follow claims from dock to source and back to vendors (follow up with CHEP and transportation carriers to cross charge our claims back).
5. Take on and complete the current reports that managers are completing, freeing up managers to get their boots on.
6. Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Availability to work full-time from May to August 2025;
2. Currently enrolled in a Business/Engineering or Supply Chain program;
3. Good computer skills such as MS Office;
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
5. Team player with curiosity to learn and take initiative;
6. Well organized and detail-oriented;
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
