At My Food Bag, our purpose is simple but powerful: Helping Aotearoa New Zealand eat and live well. We’re on the hunt for a Food Stylist to help us deliver delicious, nutritious, and healthy meal solutions to homes across the country.
We are looking for someone who is food-obsessed and has a true passion for making food look as amazing as it tastes. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in showcasing our recipes through stunning food styling for photography and videography.
Your beautiful food creations will be seen by thousands of people weekly, and this alone should excite you! You’ll need to stay ahead of the curve on food trends, both locally and internationally, while working alongside photographers, chefs, and our marketing team to bring our brands to life.
What’s on your plate:
1. Food Styling
* Order, prep, cook and style food for photography, ensuring it aligns with the creative brief.
* Collaborate with photographers to create beautiful food and prop styling for recipe cards, website content, and social media campaigns.
* Assist with special projects, campaigns, and location shoots, ensuring food styling and presentation are of the highest standard.
* Contribute to maintaining and managing the photography kitchen prop inventory.
* Support photography shoots as required, with potential hands-on assistance in the kitchen.
* Work as part of the Development Kitchen team, contributing to various tasks, including kitchen hand duties, competitor reviews, event support, and recipe editing.
* Ensure culinary standards and compliance are upheld across all tasks, and support recipe approval workflows.
* Help plan and develop seasonal menus, considering customer insights, budget constraints, and recipe accuracy.
* Contribute to recipe testing and write innovative recipes that meet My Food Bag’s high standards.
* Provide constructive feedback and support recipe development across various brands.
The Secret Sauce: What you bring to the table:
* Proven experience in food styling (must present portfolio).
* Culinary experience in a commercial kitchen environment (minimum 3 years) or experience in recipe development/food styling.
* Strong knowledge of food-related health and safety requirements.
* Experience in working with photography teams or a background in creating food-related content is an advantage.
* Excellent culinary skills and a keen eye for creating visually stunning dishes.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams effectively.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work within an ERP system.
* Creative, innovative, and adaptable to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* A degree or certification in culinary arts or a related field is preferred.

This role is full time on site at our HQ in Parnell, Auckland.
