Your key responsibilities
* Lead and supervise the Austrian FC&A EMEA team of 7-8 FTEs to achieve business objectives. The team consists of a group of legal entity controllers, who are responsible for delivering and executing the finance planning, actuals, closing, and reporting activities for the assigned reporting units. Furthermore, there are team members reporting into you for accounting matters and local compliance.
* Ensure the quality, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the financial closing process and analysis for the assigned reporting units, in accordance with dsm-firmenich Accounting Rules, international and local statutory accounting standards;
* Define and follow up on mitigation actions in case of issues during the closing in order to ensure correct and complete actuals and meet defined deadlines; drive the monthly evaluation meeting with stakeholders and follow up on occurred issues and define improvement actions;
* Develop, mentor, and coach team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and objectives;
* Provide insights and recommendations to the FC&A EMEA unit lead and other stakeholders;
* Join the country leadership team as the finance representative and be a business partner to the local business for all finance-related activities;
* Ensure compliance with internal control requirements;
* Be responsible for the preparation of the annual financial statements according to local GAAP and IFRS and act as the main point of contact for all internal and external audits, following up on financial and tax audits;
* Ensure transfer pricing monitoring and compliance in accordance with local laws and group standards;
* Be responsible for grant applications with a focus on R&D tax credits findings;
* Key user for SAP FI, Ariba, and finance digitalization projects;
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence. Serve as a change agent and be a force for proposition and implementation to drive transformational initiatives and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls across assigned reporting units;

You bring
We are looking for an ambitious and talented team player with the following qualifications:
* Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant;
* More than 6 years of relevant experience in Accounting/Controlling;
* Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring a team;
* Strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting processes, IFRS principles, and Austrian local GAAP;
* Fluent in German and English;
* In-depth knowledge of local compliance rules with regards to direct and indirect taxes, transfer pricing, and governmental requirements (e.g. Statistik Austria, ÖNB) for manufacturing and holding companies;
* Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (SAP FI/CO experience is a plus);
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervising skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and levels;
