We are now seeking a motivated and enthusiastic full time Team Leader to lead our Heavy Vehicle team, which includes Vehicle Body Builders, Fabricators, Fitters, Auto Electricians and Apprentices. This role would suit someone who is looking to be a part of developing a high performing team, and may come from a background of heavy vehicle fitting or body building, or from a project management, scheduling or other similar background.

About the role
The primary focus of this role is to lead and inspire a team to schedule, manage, and oversee various projects for our clients, ensuring adherence to TL Engineering standards and process controls.
The role will include:
1. Manage production of heavy vehicles, coordinating with engineering and design teams to meet project requirements
2. Direct, coordinate, and supervise the work of team members to ensure efficient and high-quality production
3. Maintain oversight of team performance and commitment to the ongoing development of team members, identifying and developing talented members within your team
4. Identify training needs and provide or arrange for appropriate training to enhance team members' skills and knowledge
5. Plan and schedule work assignments for team members, ensuring that production goals and deadlines are met
6. Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and supplies, ensuring availability for production while minimising waste
7. Continuously assess and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, quality and safety
8. Encourage and facilitate innovation within the team to drive advancements in production techniques and product offerings
About you
We’re seeking a team leader with an interest in project management who is passionate about identifying talent and developing their team. The ideal candidate will ideally have:
1. Trade qualifications or equivalent preferred within the Paint, Fit and Fabrication (Automotive/Industrial) Industry OR come from a background of project management, planning, workshop management or similar
2. Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in heavy vehicle or vehicle fit out
3. A minimum of 5 years experience in team leadership, with a focus on developing and motivating high performing teams
4. Hands-on experience with the equipment, tools, and processes required for heavy vehicles
5. Experience in planning and executing production schedules, managing budgets, and meeting deadlines
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop
7. Commitment to maintaining knowledge of company products and services
8. Collaborative team player focused on working together to produce quality products for the client
9. Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to changing production demands and work environments
10. Exceptional organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address production issues and improve processes
12. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations
13. Proficiency with relevant software and tools used in production management and reporting, including Microsoft Office
14. Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in production processes and team performance
